Gas Gauge
I had a terrible shock this morning when I went past the gas station. When I came home last night gas was selling for 1.33 a Litre and when I went back by this morning it is now 1.45 a big raise overnight. Supposedly this is all because of Hurricane Ike coming up through Texas. Now it's frustrating because we don't know what effect it is going to actually have on everything. The government needs to step in and really take control of the oil companines

Gas Price Pressure
The price of gas continues to rise, now a litre of gas is over 1.44. To fill my van is well over 120 and best case scenerio might last us 2 weeks. We are trying to think out our travel plans to make the most of the gas we have but it is becoming increasingly difficult to make it work financially. At what point will the gas price level out, will it ever drop again? Why hasn't the government stepped in to lower gas tax which supposedly makes up over 40% of the price we pay at the pumps.

Gas Price Pain
With gas prices here hitting 1.17L and I heard today on the news it should hit 1.50 by summer I don't understand why our government won't step up and make a cut in the tax in our gas price. They could at lease remove the pst/gst from the price. I'm trying to support my family for 6 and by the time you keep food and a roof get some bill paid it's hard to drop $100 to fill the tank in the van and hope it lasts for 2 weeks. It could be scary if it goes up as high as they say $150 to fill the tank would be hard to swallow. I believe it is time for the government both provincially and federally to give us average joe's a real tax break at the pump where we will see it everyday.

This is awesome, I'd want one for sure

Apparently, as early as 2010, Chevy will release a new car called the Volt. If you drive less than 40 miles a day, this car will never need gasoline. Additionally, they are working on a plan that could eliminate the power companies from the deal as well. If things go according to plan the car could use a solar battery charger, thus becoming nearly free to operate during the first 40 miles per day. This car looks really cool and if it works like they believe it will I think this will be the start of something spectacular for the environment. I'm sure there will be a huge price tag on it as it is new and environmentally friendly but I think that they would be worth it.
